Big Changes For The Reid Family

Wow... It's amazing how quickly life can change sometimes.... I'm sure most of you have felt like this at some point. The Reid family is gearing up for our next adventure... a job change for Michael and a move to a new state...

Michael applied for and was offered the job of Western Region Avaition Training Specialist with AMD (Avaition Management Directorate) in Boise, ID. AMD is under the umbrella of the Dept. of the Interior just like the park service and the BLM. This job combines Michael's two loves of aviation and training... we are SO excited for this opportunity. It's a fanatastic advancement for Michael in his career. We feel so blessed that he was able to achieve this position... and in a place like Boise, which we love. Of course, it's a very bittersweet moment as well. We have loved Cedar City... We have loved Zion Helitack and working for the NPS... I mean Zion NP has to be one of the most magnificent places on this earth, right?... we have loved our time here. It will be hard for Michael to leave this crew that he has invested his heart and soul in.... It will be extremely difficult to move so far away from Michael's parents. How blessed we have been to be so close to them our entire married life. So, you can see how emotional the whole situation is... the excitement of looking forward to this new wonderful opportunity and the sadness of what we will be leaving behind.

They would like Michael to report on July 18th... so fast... YIKES! We still don't have all the details concerning the relocation, but regardless... pray that we will be able to sell our house and not have to be split up for too long waiting for the house to sell. There may or may not be the option to sell the house to a relocation company after it's been on the market for a certain amount of time... we don't know yet. So, we will just see what happens as we move forward...

We really do feel so blessed and are so grateful... for what is behind and for what is ahead! We will keep you posted!

Did you see this coming? BIG change and what an honor! I am so pleased for you all. Good luck in all you have ahead. I'm glad I got to see Michael dangling from a helicopter, but don't want to think of him doing it everyday (or again). Best wishes!
