New House Offer...
So... we made an offer on a house today... because of the holiday weekend we won't hear anything earlier than Tuesday of course. It's a HUD Repo, and besides the fact that they took the stove and the stove hood with them, it's in really good shape. They didn't kick a bunch of holes in the walls or anything like that. These pictures are from the listing on the internet. It's the same layout as the house we're renting except that you come in the front door into the formal living room, then the kitchen sits behind the living room and the family room is down below where the kitchen is in the house we live in now. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, we know it was on the market about 18 months ago and that the people who bought it put quite a bit of work into it so the carpet is in great shape, the most of the paint looks really good. They added some nice crown molding in several of the rooms. The kitchen has a nice hardwood floor that extends a walkway through the living room to the front door. It's 2 bedroom, 3 bath. One thing that I will miss compared to where we live now is that this house doesn't have the half bath on the main floor, but that's because the house is a little smaller total square footage than our rental so every room is a little smaller and there isn't room for a half bath and the laundry is in the unfinished basement. If it didn't have the unfinished basement for storage, the house would probably be too small for us, so we're glad it has the basement. We're super excited. It's in the Fiddler's Canyon neighborhood on the north end of town which is a nice established neighborhood. This rental has spoiled us in a lot of ways... great view, open spaces, three car garage... I can spy on Michael at the air center from our deck... but we will be so grateful to have a yard the boys can play in and level sidewalks for learning to ride bikes and playing baseball without worrying about your ball or your bike rolling away. We'll keep you posted. Also on a side note... Michael's helicopter arrives on Monday. Say a little prayer for him as he heads into this fire season.

Good Luck! I like the cabinets in the kitchen- a little different but not to wacky.
I agree about the cabinets. I wasn't too sure about them until I saw them in person, and they actually look pretty good. With black appliances I think it would be nice... but I'm getting ahead of myself... always counting my chickens before we even know if our offer will be accepted :)
